A m b i e n t T o n e s brings together the ambient music I keep returning to: sustained drones, slowly shifting textures, and melodies that develop without a pronounced beat.
I’m drawn to the details within those arrangements. A change in tone, a new layer, or a brief melodic phrase can be enough to hold my attention. The selection makes room for both minimal pieces and fuller soundscapes, with a focus on artists whose music I genuinely enjoy sharing.
I don’t replace a track simply because another submission arrives. Once added, a piece can stay in the playlist for months.
That’s a personal approach, not a promise about streams or placement length. I enjoy returning to ambient music over time. A recording might sit quietly in the background on one listen, then hold my full attention on another.
I want A m b i e n t T o n e s to leave room for both. Updates happen gradually, without a weekly reset that clears out music I still think belongs.
I review submissions myself, listening for texture, pacing, and how a piece works alongside the existing selection.
My preference is for ambient music, drone, and minimal electronic arrangements with a distinct character. That might be a warm, melodic recording, a more abstract soundscape, or a restrained piece built around a few carefully chosen sounds.
There’s no requirement for a particular instrument or production method. I’m more interested in what the artist does with the sounds than how many layers are involved.
You’ll find music from Matt Tondut, Hilyard, and Abstract Aprils alongside other ambient artists. What connects the selections is the listening experience and how the pieces flow together.
If a piece catches your attention, save the track, visit the artist’s profile, or explore the release it comes from. Sharing the playlist with someone who enjoys ambient music is welcome too.
Helping listeners discover artists they’ll return to is a big reason I curate. A single recording can introduce you to an album or a catalog you haven’t heard yet, and I hope these selections encourage that next listen.

If you make ambient music, drone, minimal electronics, or slowly developing soundscapes, I’d love to hear it.
Send a released track and a short note about the fit. I listen for the playlist’s sound and flow, so not every submission will make it in—but I appreciate you sharing your work.
