Finding a Moment to Be Present

I finally stopped to gather and share a few of my thoughts. A day late and a dollar short, maybe, but I’m here.

I’m here. I’m here. I’m here.

As Emma, an early supporter of the Anaamaly project around the time Fields of Light was released, once said as she shared her spiritual experience in the forest:

“I’m here. I’m here. I’m here.”

Powerful words. That is a phrase I use to this day, almost 10 years later. It’s the kind of phrase that you keep in your toolkit. It has the ability to pull you into the current moment. At any time, you can immediately pump the brakes on a loop of random thoughts.

It’s the type of phrase that can make moments feel like magic moments because you are fully present and aware. It’s a phrase that can stimulate your senses. For me, I love how the rain slows everything down. Everything feels quieter, more contemplative. And because of the rain, I was inspired to sit and write this piece.

Social media is my kryptonite. It’s not a place I find myself returning to often. It’s noisy, overstimulating, fake, curated. Not to mention the algorithms telling me what I like or what I should like.

But I wanted to share more. And the idea of posting and sharing my thoughts and behind the scenes may be something that some of you would appreciate. And maybe this is something that I need.
